Pip English (OW, 1991 - 2000) will be trekking the Great Wall of China for The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign on 24th October 2010.
When Pip was 5 years old he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma: a comparatively rare cancer, which affects only around 100 children a year in the UK.
Message from Pip: "I am trying to raise as much money as I can for a cause that is particularly important to me. It was at the Royal Marsden where I underwent a large proportion of the high-dose chemotherapy that would result in my complete cure from cancer, 20 years ago this summer. The hospital is raising money for a new children and teenager cancer centre that will help maintain the Royal Marsden Hospital at the forefront of children's cancer treatment in Europe. My personal fundraising target is £3,000 but I am hoping to raise much more than that if I can. I am already half-way to that target, but any further support would of course be greatly appreciated. I am paying my own costs for the trip so all money raised will go to the charity.
Please donate what you can - I realise that times are tough right now, but whatever you feel that you can give, please do so. Thank you all!" Please click link below.
